Principal's Message

May 4, 2021

We are in the last month of school! I know it is hard to believe that the year is nearly at a close and I am sure many of our students are ready for summer break.

We do have a very busy month ahead of us with FSAs (Florida Standards Assessments) and CFEs (Common Final Exams) taking place in these final days. Our 3rd-5th grade students began taking Florida Standards Assessments (FSA) last month and continue through May with the remaining tests. Information about the testing is continuously updated on our school website at

Due to the fact that FSA is a state test, it must be completed in the school building. Students do not have the option to take the test from their homes. Please know that each students’ health and safety is always a top concern for us. We have created a plan for testing which ensures not only that students are in a physically safe testing room, but also that students and parents are confident dropping off their child on testing days.

Please remember to send your child to school on these days prepared with a good night's rest and a healthy breakfast. It is important not to schedule doctor appointments on these days so students can be focused and are given the correct amount of time for each section of the test.

Lastly, due to COVID-19, the Superintendent has limited all face-to-face celebrations and awards to high school seniors. To highlight the accomplishments of our fifth graders we are compiling a video that will be shown to our students and posted online for [email protected] students to view. Parents of fifth grade [email protected] students will be able to schedule a time to pick up awards/certificates following the last day of school.
