Principal's Message

April 1, 2021

I hope everyone had a relaxing Spring Break and was able to spend some time with their loved ones. We are in the home stretch for the school year and it will be May before we know it!

Our 3rd-5th grade students begin taking Florida Standards Assessments (FSA) this month and continue through May. Information about the testing is continuously updated on our school website at

Due to the fact that FSA is a state test, it must be completed in the school building. Students do not have the option to take the test from their homes. Please know that each students’ health and safety is always a top concern for us. We have created a plan for testing which ensures not only that students are in a physically safe testing room, but also that students and parents are confident dropping off their child on testing days.

Please remember to send your child to school on these days prepared with a good night's rest and a healthy breakfast. It is important not to schedule doctor appointments on these days so students can be focused and are given the correct amount of time for each section of the test.

Important days in April:

Tuesday, April 5-Wednesday, April 6: 3rd grade FSA (Reading-Sessions 1 & 2)

Wednesday, April 6: No Early Release Day - Students will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. instead of the normal early-release in order for all students participating in state assessments to complete their tests without concern for running out of time.

Thursday, April 8: 4th & 5th grade FSA (Writing)

Thursday, April 22: OCPS Virtual Parent Academy – “Decision Making for the Future: College and Career”

Thank you to all of our families for your continued support.

Sean Maguire
