Art Club

When does Art Club meet?

The Art Club at Conway Elementary meets on Fridays from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in the Art Room (#139). Participating students are provided with a meal at 3:00 p.m. in the cafeteria, free of charge!

Who may participate?

*During the first semester in the fall, Art Club will only be for 5th graders, so siblings will still need to go home at their normal time.

*During the second semester in the spring, 4th grade students will have the opportunity to participate.

What are the behavior expectations?

Students in Art Club will be expected to stay focused on creating art and show respect toward the other students and their artwork. Students are also required to maintain good behavior in the classroom and in Special Areas.

What will students learn?

Our students will learn more advanced art techniques in areas such as clay, sculptures, painting and drawing, as well as other artistic areas of interest that the students will choose. Mrs. Sears wants to encourage their thirst for deeper exploration into the visual arts and help open the doors to their interests. For each Art Club meeting, students will use half of the time to learn and try new techniques as a group, then they will use the rest of the time for self-guided projects in their preferred medium.

Who do I contact if I have more questions?

Space is limited, so please contact [email protected] for more information.

Important Notes:

Younger siblings (Pre-K through 3rd grade) may not join or wait for older siblings in Art Club. They will need to depart the campus at the regular dismissal time.

Transportation is not provided, so students will need to be picked up immediately following the activity or have permission to walk home.
